Health Services Administration (MBA/MHSA)
The Health Services Administration (MBA/MHSA) is a joint program available through the College of Health Professions & McAuley School of Nursing and the College of Business Administration. Designed to meet the unique needs of those working in the healthcare field, the program lets students earn an advanced degree in Health Services and Administration and Business Administration. The program launched after the school noted that healthcare professionals needed experience running a business. Graduates work for hospitals, in doctors' offices and in community health clinics across the country, and some graduates work for nonprofit organizations that assist those living in low income areas. Students take 24 credit hours in core business classes, 12 credit hours in advanced business classes and 24 credit hours in foundation courses that include healthcare and administration classes. Students also take a capstone course that involves intensive research and writing on a problem or topic associated with the healthcare field.

University of Michigan
School of Public Health
The University of Michigan is one of the largest public colleges in the country. Established in 1871, the university now operates three campuses and has a total population of more than 43,000 students. Each of the campuses is home to several hundred buildings, and most students find that they take courses in one specific area based on their major. The university founded its School of Public Health in 1914, and it named the school in honor of former President Gerald Ford. As a multi-disciplinary school, it emphasizes the importance of taking courses in healthcare, business, and other fields.
Master of Health Services Administration
The University of Michigan, better known to students and alumni as Michigan, offers a Masters of Health Services Administration that teaches students specific skills every step of the way. Students take examinations and meet with faculty members every year to demonstrate the proficiencies they have in the field. Faculty members will discuss the student's previous work and questions to specific answers to determine if he or she can continue with the program. Michigan also encourages its students to perform an internship in between their first and second years. The school placed students in dozens of hospitals and clinics in Detroit, Ann Arbor and other parts of Michigan, but it also placed students in Chicago, Los Angeles and in various international locations. Internships last for a minimum of 10 to 12 weeks, and some students take a semester off to gain more experience and to work in the field for a longer period of time.

University of Michigan Flint
School of Management
The University of Michigan operates satellite campuses across the state, and it named its Flint location the University of Michigan Flint. Though Flint experienced some financial problems and developed a poor reputation at one point, the school itself helped bring more money back to the area. In recent years, the university helped revitalize downtown and improve the economy of the city. After serving as a commuter college for decades, the school added new housing complexes in 2007. MBA in Health Care Management
UM-Flint offers its Master of Business Administration (MBA) program for students online and on campus. The traditional program takes place over 20 months for full-time students and up to 32 months for part-time students. UM-Flint's NetPlus! program is a unique program that allows students to take some classes on campus and some classes online. Students can complete the program in as little as 15 months or as long as 24 months. Every six weeks, students take one class online, meet with professors and spend time working on their research projects. Students also choose one concentration, and those concentrating on Health Care Administration must take additional graduate level classes outside of the core business classes required for graduation. In addition to those two programs and various concentrations, students can also earn two degrees through the joint programs available. UM-Flint offers internship programs throughout Michigan that let students work in medical settings before graduating.
