Masters in Healthcare Degrees in Mississippi

In an effort to expand access to health care in Mississippi, Gov. Phil Bryant signed an innovative bill into law in 2012 that provides financial incentives for eligible health care businesses who open in designated areas in need of more acute care hospital beds, according to the Mississippi Development Authority. A secondary goal of the program is to help create more health care jobs for Mississippi residents. As health care businesses take advantage of this incentive program, more opportunities could be generated for people to take up health care management positions at new health care facilities.

At present, Mississippi is home to 2,390 medical and health services managers, who reported an average yearly salary of $77,750, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). Earning a Mississippi Masters in Healthcare is an excellent way to prepare for this rewarding occupation and will prepare students to effectively work in the business side of health care and to provide effective clinical leadership.
