Masters in Healthcare in South Dakota

According to the Health Care Workforce Center, established by the South Dakota Department of Health, South Dakota has a thriving and growing health care industry. Health care jobs that provide direct health care services are identified as being among the fastest-growing professions in South Dakota and are projected to make up more than 10% of the state’s projected new jobs through 2018.

The Health Care Workforce Center also identified physician assistants as one of the top health care occupations, with a projected 27.6% increase in growth of positions through 2018. A master’s degree in health care is the minimal requirement to be a physician assistant, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. The BLS shows the average salary of a physician assistant in South Dakota to be $85,190.
